In the black community especially we need to promote the message that the best way to be a good day is to get and stay married to your child's mom. Preferably before you are a dad.
Alternative lifestyles and families are not equally acceptable as a man and woman being married, and then having a baby.
While we all make mistakes, and are all hypocritical in some ways, we should all strive to be the best we can be, and not compromise on what we think is best because we might have not done it or even come close.

why gay marriage hurts me and you
There are many reasons to be against gay rights in general and gay marriage in particular:
Democrats against gay marriage
but as the secular left continues to define the mainstream on this issue, the arguments in favor continue to evolve. The "how does it hurt you" is a powerful one for most people who pretty much don't think too deeply on any issue.
One way it hurts all of us is that we have broken down our marriage culture in this society for decades. Beginning with no fault divorce, and a whole legal structure that supports the notion of individual rights within a marriage. We have a mainstream media that promotes a conflicted notion of gender equality where women basically get to choose when they are equal and when they are "partners". How many times have you seen a women hit a man on tv and there be no reprecussions? Of course "he deserved it" but if women and men are equal... you know the rest.
Allowing and institutionalizing gay relationships as equal to normal ones further solidifies the individualistic views of relationships. Marriage is about your personal happiness. Whatever you may want at the time. So you can be married for 10 years with two kids. Then "reveal" you were gay all along and we as society must not judge you harshly. Also as a young man, if you're single, married, gay, single father, whatever. Doesn't matter. By allowing the gay to be celebrated, it ensures the rest of the circumstances must be accepted.
Today nearly 7 out of 10 black children were born out of wedlock to parents not married. For whites it is up to 4 out of 10. It was thought to be a crisis in the black community in the 1960's when it was 4 out of 10. And it was. The lack of stability. The lack of moral structure. The lack of economic vitality. All serve to hurt all of us. More of the bad: crime, disease, disfunction. That we as a society have to deal with one way or the other.
That's one way gay marriage hurts you and me. It is setting up circumstances that promote bad situations for society. The promotion of the idea that "it's none of your business" when we are all in each others' business. We pay for each other's healthcare, education, and the results of bad choices.
We need to re-establish higher standards in society rather than lower them to satisfy people's instincts, urges, or fetishes. Our society needs strong marriages for the promotion of what's right and good. It's helps men and it helps women.

Secular reasons to be against gay rights and gay marriage
1. In our society both legal and civil, we prefer women who have babies over women who don't have babies, therefore it is natural and right to prefer the relationship that creates the babies over the ones that can't and don't. For example, we allow maternity leave to women (and men) of newborns. This is clearly a preference for women with babies. Our tax code gives extra deductions for families that spend money on children, rather than spending money on other things. The list of prefences in our society is long and it is proper. Logically, it follows that we should have preferences for the relationships that create these babies. Our ultimate goal is to create a stable situation for men and women to procreate and perpetuate society.
2. Men and women generally complement each other. Whether it's men protecting women, or women domesticating men. This dynamic creates a more healthy situation for both genders. Society has an interest in maintaining and strengthening this bond. This can be done through law, custom, taboo, or whatever has evolved. Accepting other relationships as equal to a male-female bond naturally weakens the exclusivity and specialness.

ESPN = bigotry
...against people who support traditional values.
When did sports become a liberal plot? Where are the conservatives who have millions and billions to combat the radical leftwing takeover of ESPN? I just watched a show about an NBA who has two moms! He is being celebrated for his courage to support gay rights!
COURAGE?
In today's world, it would take courage to be a person who supported traditional values against abortion, against the divorce culture, for traditional marriage, against political correctness, and so on.
While I support affirmative action, it would take courage for an athlete to be against the Rooney rule in football. While I support gun control it would take courage for an athlete to be for concealed carry for everybody. While I believe in God and am not a member of a particular church, it takes courage for people like Tim Tebow to proudly profess their faith. Even as they constantly project tolerance. \
Where's the tolerance from the ESPN producers for the many people who hold normal, pro family, traditional viewpoint? When one of their reporters shared his personal belief against homosexuality, the network apologized. When scores of their employees share their personal belief in favor of homosexuality they are celebrated, promoted, welcomed in the club.
I don't understand how all the rich Republicans and Independents don't use their money to combat this MSM assault on our values. I'm tempted to get into conspiracy theories. I don't understand how the churches are losing these battles so badly. On that note, I think some of them are resigned that evil will take over THIS world, so they feel it's inevitable.
I'm always optimistic. I believe we can reverse this degradation. We can work to love all people, while loving what is right at the same time. There must be standards and morality. We all don't get to do what we want, and still have a society. Some things are right, and some are wrong. Everything is not subject to radical political movement.
When we lose morality on our sports channels that should be enough of a wake-up call.

Former lesbians missing in media
(random thought on gay nba player)
Unlikely convert
If only everybody was willing to deal with all the facts. I don't know all the answers, but I do know it is wrong for people in the media to attempt to discredit and bully their political adversaries.
It doesn't matter to me whether people are born gay, learned the behavior, had a propensity, some combination, or something I never thought of. I believe in traditional values. I think that is what's right, and best for society.
This idea if something doesn't hurt another, then it should be legal is nonsense. Some things do damage across generations or they harm the culture in general.
